This week, the De Nis art project will again receive new substance. This time, regional artist Yassi will use the façades of Venlo’s city hall. The work will officially be revealed on Wednesday March 23.

Yassi is the alias of a young regional artist. He (or she?) bases his/her work on word associations and word-play, a game with words and their different meanings. As a starting point for his/her work on the city hall façade, he/she took the word ‘nis’. “ The word ‘nis’ means niche or cavity, a protective space, but ‘nis’ is also part of the word ‘vernis’ (varnish), a material artists use as a barrier for and protection of paintings.
